This post is dedicated to small businesses and big ideas.
If someone had told me 20 years ago that I would run my own business one day, I would’ve laughed.
Hello, my name is Yana-owner and founder of ShaNaMetics. Welcome to my second blog post.
I want to dedicate this post to all small businesses out there and to those who want to start their own business.
I very often meet and talk to people who don’t like their jobs for one reason or another – long commute, low pay, bad management, etc.
But people seem to accept the situation without trying to find another way. When I ask ‘why don’t you look for something else’ or ‘what don’t you start your own business’ I hear excuse after excuse, after excuse.
We are our own worst enemy. We create our own blocks and we are not even trying to overcome them.
Imagine how wonderful this world would be if everyone works a job that they like, and everyone is well rewarded for their work.
Don’t you want to have better life and have more time for yourself and your loved ones? Don’t you want to be your own boss and be in control of your income?
If the answer is YES, what are you waiting for?
You are probably saying: ‘Easier said than done, Yana!’ and you are absolutely right.
But once you have an idea, you lay the foundation of something amazing, of something that you will create with passion, love and positive energy.
You can always work full time and start your own project (like I do).
Where your project is going to take you, is entirely up to you.
You have the power to be in control of your own life.
I was inspired to write this post after a recent interview with the one and only, Rebecca Adams.
The interview is part of The International Interview Series which includes 30 amazing entrepreneurs from all around the world.

During the interview I mentioned about the importance of knowledge.
Knowledge is POWER.
Learning skills such as marketing, sales and business is key.
But knowledge is one out of many steps.
A very important step of achieving your business goal is your MINDSET.
Negative mind will never give you positive life.
There will be failures and disappointments on the way to success but DON’T lose hope.
Don’t call it a failure or a disappointment, call it a learning curve.
Albert Einstein had said: ‘A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.’
One of my favourite things about running my own business is creating.
What is yours?
I love writing down ideas or business plans about my next project.
When you run your own business, the sky is the limit.
The dedication and determination, you put towards your business goals are addictive.
I can honestly say that I am addicted to my business.
I am ready to go above and beyond to achieve my business goals.
We all have different reasons to start our own business – we feel stuck at our jobs, we want to be independent, we are unhappy with management and lack of leadership, etc.
Whatever your reason is, go for it.
You might say: ‘What if doesn’t work?’
What if it does!
The way to success is long but a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
The American comedian Milton Berle had said: ‘If an opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door’
Nothing is impossible, only you have the power to sculpt yourself into what you want to become.
I hope you enjoyed my second blog post you find it inspiring. I welcome you to have a look at my website and try one of my products.
